Sigmoidoscopy

Sigmoidoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that examines the lower portion of the colon (rectum and sigmoid colon). Similar to a colonoscopy, it uses a flexible tube with a camera to identify polyps, inflammation, and other abnormalities. However, it is less invasive, requires minimal preparation, and is often used as an initial screening tool for colorectal diseases.
